What good looks like
A corner picked by risk rather than by what happened to be left, the people affected told before shipping rather than after discovery, and the gap tracked and repaid — or a straight admission that it never was.
Red flags
The compromise stayed secret until it surfaced as someone else's problem, correctness went while cosmetics survived, the debt is still out there and shrugged at, or they insist they never compromise on quality.
